Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
Item upgrade, commonly known as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment increases a stat linearly.
Players can recycle up to six items at a time in order to gain an indicator of the level of the item's upgraded components. The cost of recycling an item scales depending on its rarity and.
Upgrade components
In Guild Wars 2, an upgrade to an item is a method to boost the stats of your weapon and armor. This can be achieved by a variety of methods, including by using upgrade components or by increasing the rarity or mark level. Additionally to this, many items can be reforged to boost their stats even more.
You can find upgradeable items throughout the game. They are available throughout all over the world and are rewards for missions. Players can also craft them. The main way to upgrade gear is through the use of upgrade components, which are components that can be slotted into equipment. Most equipment has slots for upgrading, and many require a certain level of upgrade. Some upgrade components give specific bonuses, while others offer a general bonus.
There are many types of upgrade elements available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions, and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gemstones and enchantments, can be put in any kind of equipment and offer fewer bonuses than those that are equipment-type specific. Glyphs are only available on gathering tools. They offer a variety of bonuses, ranging from boosting the speed at which an item gathers to supplying additional crafting materials.
Select the item in your inventory, then open the Upgrade window. This will display a preview on the right side of the screen showing what the expected stats will be after the upgrade, as well as any necessary components or materials. The Upgrade button at the bottom will be labeled as Blocked if you do not have enough of or.
The upper-right side of the screen shows the number of upgrade components needed for the specific item. The cost of an upgrade increases as the level and rarity of the item increases. However, you can reduce the cost by purchasing upgrades from a merchant, or trading them with other players.
Many weapons can be improved with a prefix, such as a rune, or an insignia. Other weapons can be improved with the suffix. These upgrades change the name of the item and add an adjective, like "Radiant" or "Minor vigor.' The exceptions are the non-inscribable weapons, such as shields and foci from the Prophecies and Factions campaigns, that cannot be upgraded using any kinds of mods in any way.

Glyphs
Glyphs are a powerful tool for communicating visual information. They move to grab the viewer's eye and entice curiosity. The animation of glyphs mimics body language, making them even more effective in communicating the message across linguistic barriers. Glyphs can also enhance the retention of messages by creating an experience of familiarity in the brain.
Each glyph can increase a stat's value by a specific amount. This is shown on the item when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This is not the actual amount by which the glyph will increase the stat, but rather the maximum amount by which it can do so. The value of the glyph depends on the tier and quality of the product you are in awe of.
Most upgrade components slotted into items cannot be replaced or salvaged without dismantling the equipment in question, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. If you do have a non-useful rune or glyph that has not yet been added to your gear, you can move it to a different piece of gear by using the Upgrade Glyphs context menu within the Glyphs panel. This will create an Glyph Set that includes the chosen glyph.
You can take out the glyph using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. This will cause the item to be destroyed in which it is installed however, you can salvage the upgraded item by using the glyph and its fragments, therefore, it shouldn't be considered as a loss.
The addition of a glyph to an item may cause it to be unstable, and the shards of the glyph will disappear from your inventory when you take it down. You can also apply an inscription on your equipment to provide an extra benefit. Deferred Damage, for example can store damage, and then be dealt out slowly to the wearer rather than all at once. This is beneficial for players who are taking lots of damage from enemies, but do not want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens are used to change the affixes on weapons and equipment. They can be obtained from a variety of sources, including mystery boxes, rare drops from skulled monsters or by killing bosses. Every reroll grants the player an affix randomly chosen and typically better than what they had before. Reroll tokens can be used to boost the weapon's stats to increase damage or bonuses.
Items that have been rerolled may not appear in the upgrade menu, however, they can still receive upgrades. These rerolled items are able to be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button that alters the layout of the item window and allows up to six items to be selected to recycle. The level gauge is boosted by recycling an item. This amount is determined by the item's rarity and its level, therefore items with higher levels are more useful to recycle than lower-level ones.
In addition to reroll tokens, players can make use of Star Remnants and Reroll Tokens to reroll the weapon traits of an upgraded unit. Rerolls are based on a % chance for a weapon's trait. If it rolls higher, the weapon is upgraded. If it rolls lower, the weapon remains unchanged. Weapons can be upgraded up to three times.
Rerolls are a great option to upgrade an item, however, players must be aware that it will reduce the overall ilvl the weapon by the number of rerolls used in order to increase the weapon to its ultimate ilvl. This effect is most evident on rings and Diadems, as they have no other options to increase the ilvl.
Some players have complained that the reroll system is expensive. It would be fairer to let people pay for it using money or food items which would allow players to make changes to their builds without having to invest too much time. However the paid rerolls aren't something the developers are planning to implement at this point in the game's development. Instead, they plan to add a race change potion in the near future.
Leveling
There are a number of ways to boost the value of an upgrade for an item. The first way to level up an upgrade to an item is to increase the amount of upgrade. This boosts the value of upgrading a stat. The second option is to increase the impact of the upgrade, which boosts the damage or healing of a stat. The base item can be upgraded to an advanced upgrade type. The upgraded item will keep its iLevel but be upgraded to reflect the effects of the upgraded item.
When upgrading items, it is important to keep in mind that upgrades are not guaranteed. Most of the time, a higher roll is based on the glyphs. However there are occasions where a higher or more special roll may occur. The type of item will determine the iLevel. If you upgrade a rare or exclusive item to a unique kind of item, it's likely to gaining an additional level.
Upgrades to items can be costly, particularly when you're upgrading a piece of equipment from a standard to legendary track. The cost will depend on the item's base iLevel and the amount of upgrade levels it has. In addition, some upgrade tracks require crests to achieve the next upgrade level.
If you're lucky the upgraded item could get to the top of its upgrade track and gain an additional effect. This will give you a substantial increase in the value of the item. The bonus effect changes with each upgrade level. In general, the effect of upgrading is increased by +3.
Depending on the item's level of base and upgrade path, the iLevel of the upgraded item will change as well. For instance an item upgrade d from a rare or unique item to an exceptional one is likely to gain the Enhanced Defence of the new base item.
